Foodbank

The Narthex Support and Advice Centre at Tyseley is open for:

Foodbank parcel collectionsTuesdays and Thursdays: 10.00 – 12.00
Donations Mondays to Thursdays: 09.00 – 16.00
Donations Fridays: 09.00 – 15.00

The foodbank addresses the needs of the most vulnerable within our community, including people placed in sudden financial crisis due to change in personal circumstances leading to financial hardship and in some cases homelessness. The foodbank provides a temporary, practical stopgap giving a minimum of three days’ emergency food supply until welfare benefits are paid. It is also a catalyst for helping individuals by supporting them through other issues such as debt and housing matters, helping to break the long-term cycle of poverty, isolation, deprivation, lack of opportunity, poor diet and health problems.

We also provide volunteer opportunities and work placements for the unemployed, those with long-term sickness and mental health problems, isolated minority ethnic communities and ex-offenders, giving them the opportunity to prepare for work, training, or a safe place to volunteer.
